The Stitch Up: Remember, Remember the Makes of November

above @MADEBYMEJESSIEB SHOWING US HOW IT’S DONE IN THE PEPPERMINT BRONTE BATHERS

Where has the year gone, sweet stitchy pals?! We’re absolutely flying through the months – Christmas trees are sprouting in living rooms across the world; calendars are booked and busy with parties and gatherings galore; and in this, the penultimate month of the year, you sewists have been churning out some magical makes!

So, to get a headstart on a time full of festivities, we’re celebrating some of our favourite Peppermint makers and makes with another marvellous edition of The Stitch Up. If you want to show off your sensational sewing, be sure to tag us in your posts on Instagram and you might see yourself in The Stitch Up in months to come!

PERFORMANCE ART

Two glorious me-made mavens showing off their arty side! @Paige.Dress pairs her Peppermint Wrap Skirt with some excellent Haim merch and @Purkinje.Fibers gets hacky, transforming the Peppermint Shift Dress into the stuff fashion dreams are made of.

CHECK IT OUT

Ahh, our beloved gingham. Is there anything she can’t do? We’re tickled pink by @SewDisorganised’s matchy-matchy moment – pairing the Peppermint Wide-Leg Pants with the Fibre Mood Filippa shirt dress – and @Caitlin.InStitches has got it right in the Peppermint Bardon Dress: gingham in a strawberry patch is always a good idea.

PEPPERMINT PATTERNS ABROAD

How special it is to see your wonderful makes traversing the globe to far-reaching places! @SoSewEmma takes her Peppermint Wrap Skirt for a sojourn in Portugal’s Pena Palace and @FrockingLouLou sees the sights in the city of love in her Peppermint Rozelle Slip. Ooh la la!

SEEING RED

Red is having a real moment in the sartorial world – described as the biggest colour trend of the season and making a fiery comeback. Here @TereseWeng embraces the glamour of the Peppermint Rozelle Slip for a fabulous festive frock and @AmbrosiaKramer falls head over heels for autumn in the Peppermint Pocket Skirt.

BELLES OF THE BALL

The Peppermint Belle Shirt is an icon, a legend and the moment as seen here in some striking Spoonflower fabric on @Gabby_Sews and @CaitSnyd_Sews. We heart!

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
