TOP MAKES

Shout out to Jane of @OverLockItIn who, after years of wanting to make the Peppermint Paddington Top, finally put her pedal to the metal (or the carpet) and made it happen. She shopped her stash (a woman after our own heart) and with some small adjustments, made the pattern work with the fabric she had. What an inspiration!

The fabulous Peppermint Belle Shirt is looking lovely on Christine of @Thready_Set_Sew. A classic black, sewn with linen-look cotton from her stash, this shirt is such a great make that she’s already planning the next one!

Ashley of @Joy_Full_Wardrobe has inspired us to bump up a matching set on our to-sew lists after seeing her beautiful Peppermint Peplum Top. I mean, come on, a matching set in gingham? Sign us up!

THE MORE THE MERRIER

Few things feel as good as gifting your creativity, and we are so proud that Charlotte of @SewSaysCharlie chose the Peppermint Bucket Hat as the handmade gift of choice for a bunch of her friends. She even turned out a teeny baby one and it could very well be the cutest make of the month!

Annie of @Annie_Makes_Some_Stuff has started the year right with her first make of 2024, the Peppermint Wide Leg Pants. She has sewn this pattern not once, not twice, but thrice! How good is it when you find a style that you love and can turn it out over and over. Luckily for Annie the love of sewing seems to run in her family, having sewn these duds from fabric gifted from her aunty’s stash. Love!

WEST END GIRLS

Teresa of @TeresaTaylorGuerino has proven the Peppermint West End Jacket to be a versatile make by adding the sweetest, lace-trimmed collar to the pattern and adorning the cuffs and hem with cute-as ricrac. Sewn out of the snuggliest-looking (and berry cute) fleece, we’d say this one is a wintertime winner! Also adding fabulous frills to the West End Jacket is Elisabeth from @Elisabeth_Stitches with this quilted, gingham wonder. And our rainbow hearts are full from spying this purple wool version from Katie of @Kak513, adorned with a ‘Love Is Love’ patch from Ivy of @WonderfulSews – love is certainly in the (chilly) air!

WRAP IT UP

It’s a big, bold YES from us! Kate of @Phantosmia has made our colour-loving dreams come true with this vibrant yellow Peppermint Wrap Top. Paired with a busy pattern on the bottom, this simple but stunning top is a total vibe.

When faced with the options of going to bed and getting a restful night’s sleep, or staying up late to burn out a sewing project, Emily of @EmilyMadeThisStuff made the sewists’ choice. Sleep shmeep! When there’s a garment to be sewn, there’s no such thing as bedtime! And wasn’t it worth it, for the Peppermint Wrap Skirt she created is a linen-lover’s dream.

DRESS REHEARSAL

Alena from @Leela_aa has coined it “The ultimate sun dress” and we couldn’t agree more. With the beautiful touch of lace inserts sewn into the softly textured double gauze, we’re ready to bet this Peppermint Bardon Dress feels as good as it looks!

The Peppermint Rozelle Slip Dress has never looked better – and this is just a toile! Sistha of @MakeMakeCreations is showing us up by making a toile (a practice run) before choosing her fabric for the real deal. Congratulations on a beautiful fitting job Sistha, we can’t wait to see the final edit!

Another classic black look, the Peppermint Wide Strap Maxi Dress is looking fabulous on Emma of @WhatEmMakes_. Emma claims it to be “the best everyday dress” and we think she’s right on the money. It’s not only great as it is, but can also be worn with a fitted t-shirt underneath for a 90’s vibe!

Ash of @And.Ash.Made also chose the Peppermint Wide Strap Maxi Dress to sew for a stunning family photo shoot with Scarlett and Daisy Photography, and didn’t she do a great job? The earthy tones of this cotton linen fabric look to be the perfect choice for this breezy make. We heart the dress, the photos – and the cute bebe!

Until next month, keep making, our sweet stitchy friends! And don’t forget to tag us so we can see your marvelous makes. #PeppermintPatterns ##ThePeppermintStitchUp

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
