The Stitch Up – Check Out These Awesome August Makes

above A PEPPERMINT PADDINGTON TOP FROM @MYRIAMSIMARD

Taylor Swift had it right when she sang “August slipped away into a moment in time,” didn’t she stitchy pals? But unlike T-Swizzle, we are still living for the hope of it all – if by that you mean the hope of seeing more of your fabulous makes shared with us across social media. If only she had written enough love songs to encompass how enamoured we are of them… oh well, there’s always the next album.

To celebrate you sewing superstars, we’ve put together a roundup of some of the most marvellous makes we’ve seen this month. If you want to show off your sensational sewing, be sure to tag us in your posts and you might see yourself in The Stitch Up in months to come!

HECKIN’ HACKING

We love to see your crafty minds play with a pattern; these two makes have tickled us pink! @Clara.Makes_ makes an adorable hungry caterpillar in her extended Peppermint Playsuit and @Natasha_Ross10 has crossed the Peppermint Bardon Dress with Friday Pattern Co’s Sagebrush to create a sweet-as summertime dress!

THAT’S A WRAP

The Peppermint Wrap Skirt is a perennial favourite of Peppermint pals and you never stop making great new ones like @DotCardigan’s blue scrap-buster and @Stitch2Stories’ elegant black linen midi.

SET IT OFF

We’re always down for a little matchy-matchy moment like @DragonflySoulDesigns’s tropical two-piece pairing the Peppermint Loungewear Set pants with a Friday Pattern Co Donny Shirt and @Kimdergwand’s juicy viscose crepe set, featuring the Peppermint Spring Shorts.

NOTHING RHYMES WITH ORANGE

As much as we love a fun print, we also have to give space to two stunning monochrome sets, alike in dignity and vibrant orange hue. @Briana_Sews whipped up a gorgeous vacation Peppermint Samford Set in tangelo orange linen and @DragonflySoulDesigns repeats her Donny Shirt and Peppermint Loungewear Set pants team up, this time as a shorts set made from home-dyed linen!

RING A DING GING

It’s been too long since we celebrated how much we love gingham! Check out @StitchingSal’s fantabulous Peppermint Paddington Top that she transformed into a gathered tier dress and @The.Hemline.Eclectic’s chic-as Peppermint Rosalie Skirt.

TO THE MAX

Strap in to see some Peppermint Wide-Strap Maxi Dresses in their native habitat – being worn by some fabulous humans out and about. We heart @FabricRomance‘s rusty maroon linen-viscose blend and @SarahLealStudio’s bright and poppy cotton-linen number!

SWISH SWISH

Bask in the glory of two beautiful Peppermint Bardon Dresses – one gorgeous green delight from @IntenselyDistracted and a short and swishy dish from @JanaGraceSews. Delightful!

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
