You be the Judge… Voting for The Circle Awards People’s Choice Category is Open

Launched in 2021, The Circle Awards recognise and celebrate the businesses, organisations, projects and people who are creating a positive environmental and social impact. And while public recognition is obviously a part of proceedings, founder Nick Hoskin sees it more as an opportunity for businesses to learn, connect and innovate.
“I set out to find a way to celebrate those leading the way and share their stories as inspiration and education to empower others to adopt a more purpose-driven approach within their businesses and organisations,” he says. “The goal was simple: create an annual awards program that grows a community of passionate individuals and fosters a culture of collaboration and collective action, not competition.”
“Our focus is on celebrating those making progress towards a better future, not just those who are doing things perfectly – we want The Circle Awards to be accessible to as many entrants as possible,” he adds. “Last year we had lots of questions about whether or not certain businesses were ‘good enough’ to enter, but we always encourage everyone to take part as even if they don’t win, they will still get value out of taking part.”
“By making it easy for people to discover these better products and services, we’re [also] accelerating the growth of conscious consumption – taking it from a niche movement and helping it become the normal behaviour amongst the majority.”

The Circle Awards 2022 were open to Australian and New Zealand-registered businesses of any size in categories that spanned architecture, construction, health and beauty, lifestyle, technology, transport, tourism, travel and more.
As well as a who’s who of sustainability on the official judging panel, the awards also recognise the value of people power with People’s Choice voting open this week. Time is limited though, with public voting only open until 6pm AEST on Friday 30 September. By voting, you’ll also be in the running for a prize pack featuring goodies from the likes of Great Wrap, Ulu Hye, Karst, The Swag (2021 People’s Choice winners) and more! Quick show of hands: who’s opened a water bottle expecting a refreshing sip… and instead been greeted by the unmistakable whiff of uh-oh?
Because for something that follows us everywhere (desk, car, hikes, yoga…), the humble drink bottle is strangely prone to becoming a science experiment. Hard-to-clean corners and gaskets. Mystery smells. Bec Bligh and her husband Tim know it well. A six-month sailing trip along the Queensland coast left them with a lifetime of memories and one stubborn annoyance: mouldy water bottles they couldn’t properly clean.
So they did something about it.
Enter @EverVessel. Thoughtfully designed borosilicate glass and stainless steel bottles that keep things beautifully simple: durable materials, wide openings, easy-to-clean parts and none of the techy gimmicks that tend to age badly. Turns out simplicity, done well, is pretty powerful stuff. (Their many design awards agree!)
And lately they’ve added a little extra delight: the Artist Series, where creatives like Paola Castro, Ben Miners and Martin Thompson transform these everyday companions into tiny travelling artworks. There are more colabs in the works, too: hydration, but make it joyful! 🎨💧

For the first time, Feast for Freedom is bringing people together for a spectacular long-table dinner as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.

It’s time to Feast!
Some recipes travel a long way before they land on your table to delight your taste buds. This year’s Feast for Freedom invites us to gather our friends, cook something delectable and raise funds for the incredible work of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (@Asrc1) while we’re at it.
The 2026 Feast features recipes shared by two remarkable cooks: Noha, who brought the flavours of Palestine with her when she arrived in Australia, and Nige, a Sri-Lankan Tamil cook whose journey with food began in the most unexpected of places.
You can host your own Feast up until 30 April – simply register online and get planning! Host a dinner, organise a workplace lunch, or gather your community… However you do it, the idea is simple: cook, connect and celebrate the cultures and stories that shape Australia.
