PepTalks 20 September, Brisbane

PepTalks Brisbane Peppermint

Thank you Peppermint Magazine for bringing such a great event to town! @thenakedgardiner

Craving some good news? Looking for inspiration? Want to hear from amazing people making a positive impact in the world, while having a meaningful night out in the company of likeminded folk? Our PepTalks events are for you!

The next one, happening at Wandering Cooks in Brisbane on Tuesday 20th September, is sure to be incredible: we’re excited to be hearing from John Elliott, the Australian Managing Director of life-changing brand TOMS; Kylie Johnson, the founder of ceramic studio Paper Boat Press; and Kelly Elkin, a sustainability trail-blazer (and our latest covergirl) who has forged a successful career as the co-founder of Clean Cut Fashion and Well Made Clothes, plus as a fashion designer with her own sleepwear label ALAS.

The beautiful leafy surrounds of Wandering Cooks gives each of our PepTalks events a relaxed, intimate feel. You can head over from 5pm to mingle and get something delicious to eat from the For The Pickles food truck, or simply arrive by 7pm to hear the talks. Feel free to come alone (it’s a welcoming crowd!), or bring along some of your best friends and make a night of it. Tickets are just $50, and include a drink of wine on arrival and light refreshments during the interval – grab yours here.

You don’t need to have your own business to come along to PepTalks, but if you do happen to run your own small ethical, sustainable or creative enterprise (or have a great idea for one) then you could have the one-minute opportunity to share your concept with the crowd and win $300 (plus a feature on the Peppermint blog) through our Peppermint Pitch initiative. Just bring along your business card and let us know that you’re interested on the night!

Still need convincing? Here’s what a few other PepTalks attendees had to say…

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
