Five linen labels to swoon over

We love linen. No really, we love it – it’s a bit of an obsession around Peppermint HQ. It’s entirely possible that, if linen were a person, it’d be taking out a restraining order right now.
Being based in humid Brisbane we know the benefits of a breathable natural fibre, and we love the crumply, no-need-to-iron and just gets softer and softer thing that linen has going on. Plus it grows without pesticides and fertilisers, leaves no waste and uses far less water than cotton in production – meaning it’s literally the feel-good choice. As spring has now officially sprung, we’re consigning the jumpers to the back of the wardrobe and looking to some up-and-coming linen brands for inspiration. If you’re as floored by flax as we are, look away now.
When we discovered this Etsy store we’re pretty sure the heavens opened and angels sang. Not only is it a handmade linen wonderland, but it also offers more stripes, polka dots and jumpsuits than you can shake a linen-covered stick at. Particular shout out to the perfect stripy dress (below), the spiffy shirt dress (above) and this polka dot jumpsuit of dreams.
Pyne and Smith’s dresses are designed and made in sunny California by the equally sunny Jo – a Brit who loves linen dresses, stripes and cake in equal measure. A girl after our own hearts, and we’re particularly in love with this indigo stripe midi frock.
We love this bijou label – a short and sweet collection of monochromatic minimalist loveliness with dramatic sleeves (particular shout-out to this drapey number)
We don’t mean to disagree, but the range of linen clothing and homewares in a muted palette of dusty roses, dove greys and slate blues looks pretty darn perfect to us. Our top picks are this checked linen dress (below), this high waist midi skirt and this dreamy pinafore.
As well as a love of linen, we’ve also got a thing for mustard. Yep, we have a lot of things. Anyway, it means we let out a tiny yelp when we saw the new range from sustainable, ethical and super transparent (production, not clothing, phew) label Lois Hazel. The mustard singlets! The cute and comfy-looking dresses! The mustard flouncy skirt! Did we mention THE MUSTARD. Godspeed, vaguely healthy bank balance. Godspeed.

Quick show of hands: who’s opened a water bottle expecting a refreshing sip… and instead been greeted by the unmistakable whiff of uh-oh?
Because for something that follows us everywhere (desk, car, hikes, yoga…), the humble drink bottle is strangely prone to becoming a science experiment. Hard-to-clean corners and gaskets. Mystery smells. Bec Bligh and her husband Tim know it well. A six-month sailing trip along the Queensland coast left them with a lifetime of memories and one stubborn annoyance: mouldy water bottles they couldn’t properly clean.
So they did something about it.
Enter @EverVessel. Thoughtfully designed borosilicate glass and stainless steel bottles that keep things beautifully simple: durable materials, wide openings, easy-to-clean parts and none of the techy gimmicks that tend to age badly. Turns out simplicity, done well, is pretty powerful stuff. (Their many design awards agree!)
And lately they’ve added a little extra delight: the Artist Series, where creatives like Paola Castro, Ben Miners and Martin Thompson transform these everyday companions into tiny travelling artworks. There are more colabs in the works, too: hydration, but make it joyful! 🎨💧

For the first time, Feast for Freedom is bringing people together for a spectacular long-table dinner as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.
A Longer Table is exactly what it sounds like: one beautiful shared table inside the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (@Asrc1), piled with generous dishes inspired by this year’s hero cooks, Noha and Nige.

It’s time to Feast!
Some recipes travel a long way before they land on your table to delight your taste buds. This year’s Feast for Freedom invites us to gather our friends, cook something delectable and raise funds for the incredible work of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (@Asrc1) while we’re at it.
The 2026 Feast features recipes shared by two remarkable cooks: Noha, who brought the flavours of Palestine with her when she arrived in Australia, and Nige, a Sri-Lankan Tamil cook whose journey with food began in the most unexpected of places.
You can host your own Feast up until 30 April – simply register online and get planning! Host a dinner, organise a workplace lunch, or gather your community… However you do it, the idea is simple: cook, connect and celebrate the cultures and stories that shape Australia.
