Are you ready for it? The Finders Keepers markets are returning to Sydney this weekend for their final market of the year and we’re feeling green with envy that we can’t be there! But never fear, you’ll still see us popping up all over the place – select stallholders will have our latest issue to gift to some lucky customers, and you can grab a free back issue all around the markets!

Running from 8–10 December, The Hordern Pavilion is the place to be – with air-conditioning pumping, delicious food and cool drinks aplenty and, of course, 170 incredible stallholders that will make all your Christmas-shopping dreams come true!

To help you plan your visit and give you an exclusive look at what’s good, we caught up with a bunch of stunning stallholders who you can shop with and asked them one big question…

What can market-goers expect when they visit you at the markets this weekend?

MUSTARD MADE

We will be having a fun photo wall activation at the markets; visitors can come and have a Polaroid taken in front of our beautiful rainbow wall of Skinny Lockers. Plus, we’ll be offering the chance for someone to win a Skinny Locker (valued at $419) in the colour of their choice!

GEM THE LABEL

This is Gem the Label’s first time at The Finders Keepers and we are so excited to be bringing lots of our new pieces from our latest collection, Slice, and some exclusive pieces from our signature Bloom collection. We are a mindfully made, sustainable, slow fashion label and our pieces are madeby hand in our studio in Sydney! Our pieces are made from luxurious materials with bold and fun prints for the summer season. Usually, we make our pieces to order, however, this is the first time we will have a larger range for our lovely customers to try on in person which is really exciting! From dresses, tops, shorts and pants to playful accessories and homewares, Gem the Label’s debut at the Finders Keepers market this weekend is going to be spectacular!

As the world careens towards AI seeping into our feeds, finds and even friend-zones, it's becoming increasingly hard to ignore.

We just wanted to say that here at Peppermint, we are choosing to not print or publish AI-generated art, photos, words, videos or content.

Merriam-Webster’s human editors chose 'slop' as the 2025 Word of the Year – they define it as “digital content of low quality that is produced usually in quantity by means of artificial intelligence.” The problem is, as AI increases in quality, it's becoming more and more difficult to ascertain what's real and what's not.

Let's be clear here, AI absolutely has its place in science, in climate modelling, in medical breakthroughs, in many places... but not in replacing the work of artists, writers and creatives.

Can we guarantee that everything we publish is AI-free? Honestly, not really. We know we are not using it to create content, but we are also relying on the artists, makers and contributors we work with, as well as our advertisers, to supply imagery, artwork or words created by humans. AI features are also creeping into programs and apps too, making it difficult to navigate. But we will do our best to avoid it and make a stand for the artists and creatives who have had their work stolen and used to train AI machines, and those who are now losing work as they are replaced by this energy-sapping, environment-destroying magic wand.

Could using it help our productivity and bottom line? Sure. And as a small business in a difficult landscape, that's a hard one to turn down. We know other publishers who use AI to write stories, create recipes, produce photo shoots... but this one is important to us.

'Touch grass' was also a Merriam-Webster Word of the Year. We'll happily stick with that as a theme, thanks very much. 🌿
