The Stitch Up – Check Out These Adorable April Makes

above A SHORT AND SWEET WRAP SKIRT BY @LAURA.WOLFGANG

Peppermint pals! Your latest makes have been fresh as a daisy and sweet as a pea (the traditional birth flowers for April). They’ve been as precious and sparkling as a diamond (the traditional birthstone for April). And not to mention as cool and refreshing as an April shower (which some assert leads to May flowers).

To celebrate you marvellous makers, we’ve put together a roundup of some of our favourite makes we’ve seen this month. If you want to show off your sensational sewing, be sure to tag us in your posts and you might see yourself in The Stitch Up in months to come!

SET IT UP

A couple of cute as-heck Peppermint Samford Sets, both showcasing the shorts option! @ByAlissa’s adorable bow steals the show in her gorgeous multi-size gingham outfit and @EmilyThiang‘s rainbow checks are a sweet dream come true!

TOP OF THE WORLD

Talk about top-notch tops! @Low.Sews is looking sew good in her stripy Peppermint Samford Top and @KatelynWolowiec is pouting pretty in a chic black Peppermint Peplum Top

IF THE WRAP FITS

Wrap yourself up in these beautiful Peppermint Wrap Tops. @HanmadeGarb is killing it in a cute gingham number with short sleeves, while @Taylor.Snips hacked a breathtaking set of bubble sleeves onto her spectacular spotty number.

MATERNAL MAKES

Making your own clothes is a great way to make sure your wardrobe fits and reflects your body as it changes. @Sewizza made a fabulous floral Peppermint Wrap Top that fits her growing baby bump while @Thats_Sew_Jo’s first postpartum make is a groovy pair of paperbag-waisted Peppermint Loungewear Pants.

FANCY PANTS

This pair is sitting pretty in some fantastic pants. @AlexiPauls is looking cute as a boot in a smart navy pair of Peppermint Loungewear Pants and @Lucia_Fl sparkles in a rainbow terrazzo-patterned set of Peppermint Wide Leg Pants.

DRESSES TO THE NINES

These two are dressed to impress! We heart @Sarah_Lu_Creative’s Peppermint Albion Blouse hack made using second-hand curtains (serving Maria Von Trapp realness!) and @SharmillaG’s stunning Peppermint Everyday Dress has the special distinction of being made by her mum – too cute!

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
