The Stitch Up – Sneak a Peek at these Fabulous February Makes

above A COLOURFUL CORDUROY BARDON DRESS BY @SZMOON

Some say social media is the devil (and they would usually be correct) but if it’s wrong we don’t want to be right, Peppermint pals – where else would we see your beautiful sewing projects? While we’re doom-scrolling through bad news and ads upon ads, nothing lightens our lives and our feeds like spotting some of your marvellous makes.

To show off some of our faves, we’ve put together a roundup of some of the most fabulous makes we’ve seen this month. If you want to show off your sensational sewing, be sure to tag us in your posts and you might see yourself in The Stitch Up in months to come!

PEP ON TOUR

These Peppermint patterns are where we’d like to be! @Sew.Like.Honey has taken her pattern-hacked, fabric scrap Peppermint Valley Jumpsuit to Paris, while @Sew_Dainty is summering her gorgeous double gauze Peppermint Bardon Dress in the Maldives. Jealous!

WRAP AND ROLL

The Peppermint Wrap Skirt is one of our most popular patterns and you sewists are still rolling out incredible versions to this day. We heart @ Liv_Sews’ bold mint green linen and @Andie_Made’s Nepalese fabric make, as well as the black-and-white chequered excellence of @ClaireMakesClothes and @ Philosomaker’s sweet mini-skirted version.

EARTH-TONED EXCELLENCE

Channelling the delicious colours of dirt (in the sense that soil is sexy) is @SewnByJoy in her scrunchy-strap, toffee-coloured Peppermint Wide-Strap Maxi and @MikMaking in her terracotta corduroy Peppermint Button Up Dress

POCKET POWER

A pair of perfect Peppermint Pocket Skirts@NeedleAndCloth’s classic navy linen paired with a beautiful, self-drafted boxy top and @FeatherAndCloth’s slinky number sporting a front slit, made with rayon viscose.

NUMMY NEUTRALS

Some beautiful babes rocking the beige! @Low.Sews is looking cool as a cucumber in her oat linen Peppermint Spring Shorts, and @HannahKMTaylor’s redemption Peppermint Everyday Dress shines with the addition of a matching Forget-Me-Not Patterns Gemma Belt

Another great make from Lisa from @SunnySewsEveryday:

My #PeppermintWaratahWrapDress is finished and I’m so proud of it. It has been designed not to flap open and flash your pants in the wind, so I feel confident it will be a great wheelchair or standing dress in English weather.

✨ INSTANT CLASSIC ✨

The Peppermint Myrtle Shift Dress is a beginner-friendly make with a few special details based on the ever-stylish shift shape – the perfect dress you need in your wardrobe right now!

Myrtle cuts above the knee with options to customise the length. Don’t think she’s reserved for hot weather either: try a heavier-weight fabric to turn your Myrtle into a pinafore-style garment for layering.

For our fabrics we chose two from our lovely sewing partner @Karmme_Apparel – the bold Rottnest Stripes in a lightweight, soft-drape cotton, and the quality linen in the handpainted Mexico Collection.

Get making the Myrtle – the only question is, can you stop at just one?
